Thriller
J.D. Guice is a devoted fan of murder mysteries and investigative fiction. With a love for unraveling complex plots and exploring the depths of human character, she creates detective mysteries that captivate readers and keep them guessing until the very last page.
Inspired by literary legends like Sherlock Holmes, Lieutenant Columbo, and Hercule Poirot, as well as modern detectives such as Harry Bosch and Alex Cross, Ms. Guice has adapted her own voice into the genre. Her writing is heavily influenced by the works of acclaimed authors like Mary Burton, James Patterson, Michael Connelly, and Agatha Christie, all of whom have shaped her understanding of character development and narrative tension. Growing up in north Georgia, Ms. Guice finds joy in reading books and watching movies that not only entertained but also challenged her to think critically about the motives and psychology of each character. There’s no doubt that this fascination with the intricacies of human behavior influenced her decision to enter the medical field and, subsequently translates into her own writing where every character has a story and every mystery is a reflection of the complexities of life. Her debut novel, Another Precious Minute, focuses on a strong female lead, Ivy Preston, a lawyer who witnesses a kidnapping and ultimately becomes a victim herself. The book introduces her audience to Tomas Benson, a Boston detective with a haunted past, who ultimately solves the case with the assistance of his quirky partner, Detective Marc Phischer. Ms. Guice is currently working on a second novel which follows Detective Benson as he uncovers hidden secrets from his own past while attempting to solve a recent murder. When not writing, Ms. Guice enjoys relaxing with her family, her dog Louie, and her four cats who think they rule the house. She is eager to share more thrilling adventures with readers.
